ROAD MAINTENANCE WORKS FOR THE MAIN ROAD 535, ADJACENT TO THE VERLORENVLEI ESTUARY (KM 62.65 AND 65.4), ELANDS BAY, WESTERN CAPE

An application for Environmental Authorisation was submitted  in terms of the National Environmental Management Acr (107 of 1998), as amended, and the 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, as amended, for the proposed road maintenance works for the Main Road 535, adjacent to the Verlorenvlei Estuary (KM 62.65 and KM 65.4) in Elands Bay, Western Cape. DEA Reference: 14/12/16/3/3/3/1/2017.

 

Notice is hereby given in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (107 of 1998), as amended, and the 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, as amended, that the Department of Environmental Affairs has granted Environmental Authorisation for the road maintenance works along the Main Road 535 adjacent to the Verlorenvlei Estuary in Elands Bay signed on 29 August 2019 and received on 30 August 2019.

Appeals

Your attention is drawn to Chapter 2 of Government Notice No. R.993 which prescribes the appeal procedure to be followed. If you wish to submit an appeal, the following is to be noted:

A copy of the appeal must be submitted to the Appeal Administrator, and a copy of the appeal to the applicant, any registered interested and affected party and Organ of State with interest in the matter. This must be undertaken within 20 days of the date of the notification of the decision sent to registered interested and affected parties. Appeals must be submitted by no later than 23 September 2019.
